How to Become a Member

The easiest way to join ASI is to stop by one of our thirteen (13) branch locations. It takes only $5.00 to open an account and a minimum savings balance of $5.00 (which must be maintained in order to keep the account open).

If you wish to open an account, you will be asked to provide proper identification and a correct mailing address. This information helps ASI safeguard your membership. The following forms of ID are acceptable:

Current driver’s license (also SSN card or proof of SSN number)
Current state ID card
Current passport

If you have any questions about other identification or opening a new account, please call Member Services at (504) 733-7274 or (800) 749-6193.
